These Terms of Use and Travel Disclaimer (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MacedoniaTOP.com (the “Site”). The Site is operated by MacedoniaTOP, an independent travel website based in North Macedonia.

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer right or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

1. Our Role

MacedoniaTOP publishes travel guides, destination information, cultural articles, itineraries, practical tips and recommendations relating primarily to North Macedonia and nearby destinations.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, MacedoniaTOP is:

not a travel agency or tour operator;
not an accommodation, transport or activity provider;
not the merchant processing third-party bookings or payments;
not an immigration, legal, medical, financial or insurance adviser; and
not an official government, tourism-board or emergency-services website.

Using the Site does not create a professional, advisory, agency or fiduciary relationship between you and MacedoniaTOP.

2. Informational Purpose

Content on the Site is provided for general travel information and inspiration. We make reasonable efforts to create useful and accurate guides, but travel conditions can change quickly and information may become incomplete or outdated.

Examples of information that may change include:

prices, availability and booking conditions;
opening hours, seasonal schedules and public-holiday arrangements;
bus, train, flight, boat and transfer timetables;
road conditions, border procedures and local transport rules;
entry fees, permits and access restrictions;
visa, passport, customs and immigration requirements;
weather, trail conditions and safety advice;
restaurant, accommodation and business details; and

Publication or modification dates indicate when an article was published or materially updated, not that every detail has been independently reconfirmed on the day you read it.

3. Your Responsibility as a Traveller

You are responsible for deciding whether a destination, route, activity, provider or recommendation is suitable for you. Before travelling or making a payment, verify important information directly with official authorities and the relevant provider.

You are responsible for:

checking passport, visa, entry, customs and transit requirements;
reviewing current government travel advice and local restrictions;
obtaining appropriate travel, health and activity insurance;
confirming prices, availability, cancellation rules and booking details;
assessing your health, fitness, skills and experience;
following local laws, signs, closures and instructions from authorities or qualified guides;
carrying appropriate equipment, clothing, water, navigation and emergency supplies; and
making alternative plans when weather, transport, safety or availability changes.

Do not rely solely on the Site for urgent, emergency or safety-critical decisions.

4. Outdoor Activities, Driving and Personal Safety

Hiking, swimming, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, skiing, paragliding, cycling, horse riding, canyon activities, off-road driving and similar activities involve inherent risks. Conditions may be affected by weather, water levels, terrain, wildfire, snow, ice, equipment, traffic, wildlife, limited mobile coverage and the experience of participants.

A route or activity described as easy, suitable or popular may not be safe or appropriate for every person or on every day. Difficulty descriptions are general and cannot replace an individual assessment or advice from a qualified local professional.

Check current conditions, closures, permits and weather before starting. Use licensed or appropriately qualified providers where relevant, inspect equipment, follow safety instructions and stop when conditions exceed your abilities.

Driving information is general. Traffic rules, road conditions, tolls, parking restrictions, rental terms and licence requirements may change. Confirm them with official sources and your rental or insurance provider.

5. Health, Accessibility and Special Requirements

Health and accessibility references on the Site are general and are not medical advice or a guarantee that a destination or activity will meet an individual need. Consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding health, medication, vaccination, pregnancy, mobility or fitness concerns.

Contact the relevant attraction, accommodation, transport operator or activity provider directly to confirm accessibility, dietary, medical or other special requirements before booking.

6. Passports, Visas and Official Requirements

Entry and transit requirements depend on factors such as nationality, residence, passport validity, purpose of travel and travel history. They may change without notice.

Always obtain current information from the relevant embassy, consulate, border authority or other official government source. MacedoniaTOP is not responsible for a refused entry, missed journey, fine, loss or other consequence arising from incomplete, outdated or incorrectly interpreted immigration or customs information.

7. Third-Party Bookings and Services

The Site may link to or display tools from third-party providers, including GetYourGuide and individual activity suppliers. If you make a booking, your contract is with the provider identified during checkout or in the booking confirmation, subject to that provider’s terms, privacy policy and cancellation conditions.

MacedoniaTOP does not normally:

collect or process your payment for a third-party booking;
issue booking confirmations or tickets;
control whether a provider accepts, changes or cancels a booking;
set the provider’s cancellation or refund policy;
guarantee the quality, legality, safety or availability of a service; or
have access to the provider’s customer account or reservation system.

Contact the company named in your confirmation if you need to change or cancel a reservation, request a refund, correct traveller information or resolve a payment issue.

MacedoniaTOP does not itself sell or combine travel services, process one payment covering multiple travel services or transfer your booking and payment details between providers. Links and itinerary suggestions on the Site are not intended by MacedoniaTOP to create a package holiday or linked travel arrangement. Your actual rights depend on the booking process, the provider and the law that applies to your transaction.

8. Affiliate Links, Advertising and Commercial Relationships

Some links and booking widgets are affiliate links. If you complete a qualifying booking after using one, MacedoniaTOP may receive a commission, normally without increasing the price you pay.

The Site may also display advertisements or publish clearly identified sponsored or hosted content. Commercial relationships do not guarantee positive coverage or remove your responsibility to evaluate a provider.

9. External Links and Embedded Content

The Site may contain links to external websites and embedded maps, videos, social-media features, advertisements or booking tools. We do not control external services and are not responsible for their availability, content, security, privacy practices or terms.

A link, embed or mention does not necessarily constitute an endorsement. Review the current information and policies on the third-party website before using it or providing personal or payment information.

10. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise credited, the Site’s original text, design, organisation, graphics, branding, logos and other original material are owned by or licensed to MacedoniaTOP and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may:

access and read the Site for personal, non-commercial use;
share a normal link to a publicly available page; and
quote a short extract for commentary, reporting or another lawful purpose when you provide clear attribution and a link to the original page.

Without prior written permission, you may not:

republish, reproduce or translate a substantial part of an article or collection of articles;
copy the Site’s structure or compile its content into another commercial guide, database or website;
remove copyright, attribution or rights-management information;
sell, license or commercially exploit Site content;
use automated systems to scrape or download Site content at scale;
use Site content to create a dataset or train an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning system without written permission; or
suggest that MacedoniaTOP endorses or is officially connected with you without permission.

Normal indexing by search engines in accordance with our technical instructions is permitted. Third-party photographs, maps, videos, trademarks and other credited material remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

11. Acceptable Use

You must not use the Site to:

break the law or encourage unlawful or dangerous conduct;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, server or another system;
introduce malware, harmful code, automated abuse or an excessive technical load;
circumvent security, access or usage restrictions;
impersonate another person or misrepresent an affiliation;
collect personal information about other users without a lawful basis; or
interfere with another person’s use of the Site.

12. Comments and Other User Submissions

You retain ownership of original content you submit through comments or other public contribution features. By submitting content for publication, you grant MacedoniaTOP a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, moderate and translate that content as reasonably necessary to operate, promote and maintain the Site.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate another person’s privacy, intellectual property or other rights. Do not submit unlawful, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, deceptive, promotional, spam, malicious or confidential material.

We may moderate, refuse, edit for formatting, close comments or remove submissions at our discretion, particularly when they are irrelevant, abusive, promotional, unsafe or potentially unlawful. We are not obliged to publish or retain every submission.

13. Copyright and Content Concerns

If you believe that content on the Site infringes your copyright or another right, email info@macedoniatop.com. Include:

your name and contact information;
the exact MacedoniaTOP page URL;
a description of the work or right concerned;
the location of the disputed material; and
an explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorised.

We may request additional information needed to review the report.

14. No Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. MacedoniaTOP does not promise that the Site will always be available, secure or error-free, or that every statement will be complete, current or suitable for your individual circumstances.

We do not make a warranty concerning the quality, safety, legality, reliability or performance of a third-party destination, business, tour, activity, product or service.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MacedoniaTOP and its operators, contributors and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Site. This includes, where applicable, loss connected with:

travel disruption, missed transport or changed itineraries;
booking errors, cancellations, refunds or provider disputes;
injury, illness, property damage or participation in an activity;
outdated, incomplete or incorrectly interpreted information;
external websites, advertisements or third-party services;
loss of data, revenue, opportunity or enjoyment; or
temporary Site unavailability or a security incident outside our reasonable control.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it will be limited only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Site Availability and Changes

We may update, correct, remove, reorganise or discontinue content or Site features without notice. We may also restrict access when reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal compliance or protection against abuse.

We are not responsible for keeping an article, external link, widget or third-party offer available indefinitely.

17. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in the MacedoniaTOP Privacy Policy. By using third-party booking platforms or external websites, you are also subject to their privacy practices.

18. Severability and No Waiver

If a provision of these Terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, it will be applied to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.

19. Language and Translations

These Terms may be translated for reader convenience. If a translated version conflicts with the English version, the English version will control to the extent permitted by applicable law.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms when the Site, our services, commercial relationships or applicable requirements change. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Site after a revision means that the updated Terms apply from their effective date.
